East Windsor Volunteer Fire Company #2 is now offering a new membership classification of firefighter!

Exterior Firefighters are fireground support personnel working closely with fire officers and interior firefighters. At fire scenes they are trained to provide services such as outside hose work, hooking up to water hydrants, equipment operations such as setting up ventilation fans, lighting and equipment retrieval. Exterior firefighters can choose to change their status at anytime and train towards becoming interior firefighters, fire truck drivers and operators, but are not required to so!

Yes, it is still a lot of training at the fire station. And yes, you will get dirty and work hard. You do have to wear firefighting pants, jackets, boots and helmets, but you do not have to be the firefighter that goes inside the burning building, or on the roof of the burning building. You will not be required to wear breathing masks and air bottles on your back. But you may be the reason interior firefighters have the water they need to fight the fire, the equipment and tools they need ready and working. You can make the difference between life and death on the fireground!

You can become an important part of an active and highly trained fire company that works and trains together to serve their community and our surrounding neighbors.

We are also accepting applications for Interior Firefighters with or without experience. We will provide all equipment and training that you need at no expense to you whichever class of membership you choose!
